The life of "Riggs"

Who doesn't have Myspace would probably be a better question than who DOES have it. During the afternon break between classes I was surfing the net and ran across a few video cuts on Myspace. I believe it was Dateline that ran the show on Myspace. Anyways a lots rape/murder cases have been linked to Myspace. Being somewhat in disbelief I kept watching. A detective posed as "Matt". A normal 19 year old college guy, new to town and was looking for friends. Before "Matt" knew it he had over 100 friends on myspace. He seemed to connect with 3 young girls. After talking with them for a few weeks and getting information that they willingly gave to him, he contacted their parents and set up an interview. Long story short, neither of the girls realized just what information they gave up. Something as simple as what school you go to, team you play for, name, city can lead any predator to you. "Matt" the detective explained that sites like Myspace are heaven for online predators because they can be anyone they want to, connect with millions of people, and what used to take months of chatting online, the info they crave can come in a matter of days! Moral of story: Be careful what you put online!

I finally did it. I shouldn't have, but I've heard a lol about Mlb.Tv online. So yesterday I bought a month of service for $14.95. So now I get every baseball game (Unless it's blacked out) and can watch them online. I know, I already get every game on the radio with XM...but like I said..I really wanted to try this out! So far it's amazing. Video quality isn't great but not poor. You can watch whole previous games and games from last season etc. Pretty sweet for $15 bucks!

  • Yes, I totally agree about the whole "dumb" my space. if people want to stay in touch they should just use a phone, email, or at least AIM. thats my thoughts on it anyways lol. Why anounce everything on the internet that can anyone can find and read about. oh well, i could go on for ever about that but i won't lol. you already know my thoughts on it all. But Thanks for posting that because hopefully someone that has their info on a site like myspace will read your post and rethink before they put more info out in this crazy world, online. Another thing they can do, is track you down at the school/college the person is at, their house, and just follow them til they want to do something and or they just need your birth date, and year, and mess up your bank accounts and anything else like that. So all in all, just stay away from the internet. Thats my idea anyway. Stay awesome! <><
